What is the control design of a grid connected inverter?

The control design of this type of inverter may be challenging as several algorithms are required to run the inverter. This reference design uses the C2000 microcontroller (MCU) family of devices to implement control of a grid connected inverter with output current control.

Are PV inverters grid forming or grid supporting?

They serve the additional purpose of power sharing; hence, they are both grid forming and grid supporting. PV inverters are always operated at maximum power point (MPP): irre-spective of the V/f of the bus to which they’re connected, they only inject available peak power into the grid, hence only grid feeding .
