What does Ah mean in a battery?

Amp-hours (Ah) primarily tell you about the energy storage capacity – how long a battery can last. True power output (Watts) is a dynamic interplay of the battery's Voltage, its maximum current delivery capability (heavily influenced by C-Rate and BMS limits), and its internal resistance. When choosing a battery, look beyond just the Ah rating.

How does Ah determine battery capacity & usage time?

Ampere-hour (Ah) measures how much electricity a battery can store, which shows its capacity. For instance, a battery with 10 Ah can supply 10 amps for one hour or 1 amp for ten hours. This helps in understanding how long a battery will last for devices. Higher Ah means longer usage time.

If C-Rate is Proportional or Higher: If a higher Ah battery also has a C-rate that is the same or higher than a lower Ah battery (and voltage is the same), then yes, it can deliver more current and thus more power (Current = Ah × C-rate).
