What is a solar inverter?

Solar inverters are the heart of any solar energy system, converting the direct current (DC) electricity generated by solar panels into alternating current (AC) power for homes, businesses, or utility grids.

How do I choose a solar inverter?

Ensure the inverter matches the specifications of your solar panels and overall system capacity. How big should a solar inverter be?

To account for power losses assume an 80 percent efficiency. The rule of thumb is to size your inverter 1.25 bigger than your solar array.
